Your day starts when you check in with us at our office in the heart of the Old Town. Look for us near the Mirabella Fortress entrance - Travel Agency Old Town. From there, we'll direct you to the marina, where you begin. The Old Town of Omiš, with structures dating back to the 13th, 15th, and 18th centuries, is the central historical area of Omiš. The town and the Cetina River are intricately and infamously connected. Omiš and the Cetina were well known in the past because of the sea-faring "pirates" and their specially built ships, which brought them fame because they were built for attack and fast retrieval into the mouth of the Cetina River. For years, the river was used strategically to protect the town from foreign invaders.
The Adriatic Sea separates the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan Peninsula and is the northernmost part of the Mediterranean Sea. Croatia shares the Adriatic coast with countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Montenegro, and Slovenia. There are over 1,300 islands, mostly along the eastern coast of the Adriatic. The Sea is well-known for its crystal clear waters and ideal swimming conditions in the summer and fall seasons. People from around the world flock to the Dalmatian coastline to enjoy the pristine beaches, swim, snorkel, and sail the Adriatic Sea.
Postira's small port lies directly across from Omiš and is a quick sail to get to. Postira is famous for its olive oil factory, the Olive Oil Museum, and the International Olive Picking Championship, which takes place in October. Here is definitely where we recommend you buy olive oil. Postira is a sleepy fishing village with limited cafes and restaurants, so it's also a perfect place to sit down and enjoy your morning coffee.
Pučišća and its dramatic bay are often listed as one of the prettiest villages in Europe. It is known for its white limestone, of which many of the buildings are built, and numerous sculptures around the town. This limestone is a major part of Pučišća's economy and a point of pride for the Croatians. The largest stone quarry in Europe is located here, as is Croatia's only stonemason school, Klesarska Škola. Several historic quarries, some of them going back to Roman times, lay further east. We recommend you experience the history and charm of Pučišća's Klesarska Škola, where they are dedicated to working with the famous white stone. The Riva area is also great for local cuisine tasting with a couple of great restaurants. Here is where you can take a nice lunch break.
Zlatni Rat, often referred to as the Golden Cape or Golden Horn, is a long horn-shaped pebble beach with a large pine grove that sits about 2 km west of the town of Bol. Bol is located on the South side of island Brač stretching out towards Hvar. By speedboat, Bol is a one-hour drive going one way, so expect to take two (2) hours just to drive there and return to the Omiš Marina. It will also require a full tank of gas, making it a rather expensive destination. Zlatni Rat has been regularly listed as one of the top beaches in Europe and in the world, so in our opinion, the drive is well worth it. And don't forget about Bol town, which is about a 10 or 15-minute walk away from Zlatni Rat beach. Here, you will find quality bars, restaurants, and shops to keep you entertained for the day.
The hours for renting our speedboats are from 9:00 - 17:00, (8) hours.
We have three (3) speedboats available to rent.
The starting point is the Omiš marina, where we have a stand. Our boats are docked adjacent to the big parking lot across the street from the police station. Alternatively, you can check in with us at the office, and we can give you directions to the starting point at the marina.
The boat will already have a full tank of benzine to begin your day. You don't have to worry about finding a refill station as they are not easy to locate and may not be available where you want to go. When you return the boat, we will be there to help you dock and read the gas gauge; you will simply pay us what's needed to refill the tank. This part is paid with cash only, please.
A full tank of gas is approximately €200.
Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a hat, swimwear, and towels if you’d like to swim at the beaches and bays. Also, the boat(s) do not have a cooler, so you can bring your own if you'd like to take cold drinks onboard. Don't worry about a speaker; the boat(s) are equipped with them to play your favorite tunes all day long. Life jackets for everyone are also provided. If you'd like to rent a tube or water skis, those can be rented for the day at an additional fee. Please contact us at least three (3) days in advance if you are interested in a water tube or water skis.
Yes, you will need to provide a valid boating license before you can take the speedboat.
There's not much you can do about damages, but please be aware that you will be held responsible for covering the cost of anything lost or damaged on the boat upon returning to the dock. For example, if you lose the anchor, you will have to replace it. The cost of a replacement anchor is €150.
