Your day starts here when you check in with us at our office in the heart of the Old Town. Look for us near the Mirabella Fortress entrance - Travel Agency Old Town. From there, we'll direct you to the pick-up point, where a minivan will take you to begin the tour. The Old Town of Omiš, with structures dating back to the 13th, 15th, and 18th centuries, is the central historical area of Omiš. The town and the Cetina River are intricately and infamously connected. Omiš and the Cetina were well known in the past because of the sea-faring "pirates" and their specially built ships, which brought them fame because they were built for attack and fast retrieval into the mouth of the Cetina River. For years, the river was used strategically to protect the town from foreign invaders.
The Cetina is the pride and crown jewel of Omiš, located in southern Dalmatia. It has a length of 101 km, making it the most water-rich river in Croatia. Depart by kayak from the Old Town of Omiš and paddle up the winding stretches lined with natural sea grasses and native trees. You can go as far as 7km until you reach the finish point at Radman Mills Beer Garden and park. There are a few other areas you can stop at before you reach the end, like Kaštil Slanica, a local restaurant situated right on the river bank.
The Gubavica Waterfall sits at 49 meters above sea level, near the village of Zadvarje, 20 km south of Omiš. In this area, there are actually two waterfalls that are less than 20 meters apart; one is called Velika Gubavica, and the other is Mala Gubavica. During the Canyoning tour, you will have the opportunity to swim right up to the falls and enjoy their dramatic drop into the pristine waters of the Cetina.
The Canyoning tour is only once per day, and it starts at 9 a.m. Your pick-up in Omiš is at 9 a.m., so we recommend you arrive at the starting point at least 5 minutes earlier.
The Canyoning experience takes approximately three (3) hours. Then there's the transportation to and from Omiš, which takes about 90 minutes.
The age limit is 9 years old and older. No exceptions.
The canyoning tour is pretty demanding on your body. If you're not into exercise and you don't have a medium-level tolerance for exercise, then this tour is not for you. In our opinion, the most challenging part is hiking down the cliffs, which demands full-body strength. The swimming aspect is not so hard as you're wearing a life jacket which helps you stay afloat and the river's current also carries you along the route rather effortlessly. Also, keep in mind that all of the cliff jumps are optional so you are not required to do all or any of them.
The pick-up meeting point is located about a one-minute walk from our office in the Old Town of Omiš. It is located in the Old Town's main square, across the street from the Cetina River banks. Look for the white benches and four (4) large olive trees; this is where you will be picked up by a minivan. The starting point of the actual Canyoning experience takes place in a town called Zadvarje, where you will arrive after a 40/45-minute drive by minivan from Omiš.
You will finish right where you started in the Old Town of Omiš.
You should wear your swimsuit, water shoes, and sunscreen. That's it! You will have to remove your clothes and leave your swimsuit to put on the neoprene suit which will be provided to you. Don't worry, all of your personal belongings (and everyone else's in the group) will be locked away in the trunk of the minivan and will be waiting for you to grab them at the end of the tour.
You should bring a towel to dry yourself off at the end of the tour. Also, pack water and snacks if you feel you'll get hungry after the 3 hours of exercise in the canyon. It will all be with your personal belongings, which stay in the minivan during the tour. You can bring a go-pro or hands-free waterproof camera at your own risk. You just can't bring anything you have to carry in your hands. Sunglasses and seeing glasses are ok, too, but if you lose or damage them, we are not responsible.
Unfortunately, no, if you'd like to book the Canyoning tour online, then you must also make a payment to reserve your place(s).
