Itinerary

Omiš Old Town

Your day starts here when you check in with us at our office in the heart of the Old Town. Look for us near the Mirabella Fortress entrance - Travel Agency Old Town. From there, we'll direct you to the dinghies, where you begin. The Old Town of Omiš, with structures dating back to the 13th, 15th, and 18th centuries, is the central historical area of Omiš. The town and the Cetina River are intricately and infamously connected. Omiš and the Cetina were well known in the past because of the sea-faring "pirates" and their specially built ships, which brought them fame because they were built for attack and fast retrieval into the mouth of the Cetina River. For years, the river was used strategically to protect the town from foreign invaders.

Cetina River Canyon

The Cetina is the pride and crown jewel of Omiš, located in southern Dalmatia. It has a length of 101 km, making it the most water-rich river in Croatia. Depart by kayak from the Old Town of Omiš and paddle up the winding stretches lined with natural sea grasses and native trees. You can go as far as 7km until you reach the finish point at Radman Mills Beer Garden and park. There are a few other areas you can stop at before you reach the end, like Kaštil Slanica, a local restaurant situated right on the river bank.

Kaštil Slanica

Kaštil Slanica is quietly tucked away on the river banks of the Cetina River. The restaurant is a local gem serving classic Dalmatian cuisine and is often a go-to for weddings and other special occasions. In contrast to the casual atmosphere of Radman Mills beer garden, Slanica offers a more formal dining experience. You can reach the restaurant by car or by dinghy and park right in front along the dock.

Radman Mills (Radmanove Mlinice)

The historical site of a previously functional 17th-century water mill powered by the Cetina's powerful flow, but now a converted natural park, restaurant, and beer garden. The Radman Mills brings a hidden respite to locals and travelers alike. Completely engulfed by ancient trees and greenery, the Mills can be enjoyed by all ages. Activities offered include hiking trails, a small beach for swimming, and various games and play areas. The restaurant specializes in local cuisine and is famous for its unique Peka bread made daily on the premises.

Adriatic Coast

The Adriatic Sea separates the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan Peninsula and is the northernmost part of the Mediterranean Sea. Croatia shares the Adriatic coast with countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Montenegro, and Slovenia. There are over 1,300 islands, mostly along the eastern coast of the Adriatic. The Sea is well-known for its crystal clear waters and ideal swimming conditions in the summer and fall seasons. People from around the world flock to the Dalmatian coastline to enjoy the pristine beaches,  swim, snorkel, and sail the Adriatic Sea.

Frequently asked questions

To reserve a dinghy, you can either book one directly on this page or you can come to our office and reserve it in person. Our office is located in the Old Town of Omiš. Feel free to contact us with any questions before making your online booking.

Unfortunately, no. To book a dinghy online, you must also pay for the reservation to hold the boat.

You can choose the time that you want to start; the earliest is 9:00 a.m. The latest you can start depends on the time of year. If you come in the summer months when the sun is out longer, then you can return the dinghy as late as 8 p.m. In the spring and fall, with shorter sunlight hours, the dinghy must be returned by sunset. This is mostly for your safety as it's very difficult to see on the water when it's dark.

At the end of the Cetina River is the Radman Mills beer garden, restaurant and park, a perfect place for a break before returning. It is about 7km upstream from the Old Town and will take approximately 35-40 minutes to arrive there on a dinghy. About 10 minutes before Radman Mills is restaurant Kaštil Slanica, also a nice place for lunch or drinks. But keep in mind that you may need a reservation for this place.

Unfortunately, no, we must follow rules and protocols on the water. For everyone's safety, you must provide a valid boating license upon checking in for your rental.

You can book a dinghy even on the day you arrive in town in person at our office location. But keep in mind this depends on availability. However, we have several dinghies and are usually able to accommodate anyone who comes within an hour or two at the most.

There's not much you can do about damages, but please be aware that you will be held responsible for covering the cost of anything lost or damaged on the boat upon returning to the dock. For example, if you lose the anchor, you will have to replace it. The cost of a replacement anchor on a dinghy is €80.
